TDEE Calculator

TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is the number of calories your body burns in a day — your resting metabolism plus everything you do on top of it. It's the baseline every fat-loss or muscle-building calorie target gets built from. Enter your details below to get yours.

Enter your age, height, weight and activity level above to see your TDEE.

How this is worked out

TDEE comes from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for resting burn (BMR), an activity multiplier for maintenance calories.

Every figure here is a population average, not a prescription. Hold a target for two or three weeks, track what actually happens, and adjust. If you have a medical condition or are pregnant, talk to a doctor or dietitian rather than a calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What is TDEE?

TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is the total number of calories your body burns in a day — your resting metabolism (BMR) plus activity from exercise, walking, and daily movement.

What's the difference between TDEE and BMR?

BMR is the calories you'd burn at complete rest. TDEE adds an activity multiplier on top of BMR to account for exercise and daily movement, so it's always higher than BMR.

How accurate is this TDEE calculator?

It uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, the formula most widely used in clinical practice — but any TDEE estimate is a population average. Track your actual results for two to three weeks and adjust from there.
