What Meal & Muscle is, and why it exists

Meal & Muscle is a free companion site to Meal & Muscle Tracker — a place to find what to eat and how to train, without a paywall, an account requirement, or a feed designed to keep you scrolling. Browse recipes with real macro breakdowns, or pull up an expert's workout video for the exact muscle group you're training today. Everything here is free to browse, and always will be.

Why we built this

Most "free" recipe and workout sites aren't really free — they're funded by selling your data, burying the actual content under ten paragraphs of story before the recipe, or quietly guessing at nutrition numbers to look more complete than they are. We wanted the opposite: a library where the content comes first, the licensing is genuinely open, and a missing number stays missing instead of getting invented.

Meal & Muscle Tracker users log meals and workouts every day — Meal & Muscle exists so there's always somewhere honest to look when you don't know what to log next.

How it works

Recipes. Every recipe is either genuinely public domain (U.S. government works, or contributors who explicitly released their recipes into the public domain) or Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike with credit given on the recipe page. Nothing is scraped from a paywalled or restricted source. Where a recipe's original source didn't include nutrition information, we estimate it by matching each ingredient against real per-ingredient nutrition data — and we'd rather show "macros unavailable" than a made-up number, so some recipes are shown without a macro breakdown.

Training. The Train section pairs two things: a full written exercise reference (873 exercises, public domain, organized by muscle group) and expert video workouts submitted directly by real fitness creators. Every video credits its creator by name with a link to their channel — Meal & Muscle never strips that credit or claims the content as its own.

Creators. Anyone making workout videos can submit them to be featured on Meal & Muscle — full credit, a link back to their channel, and exposure to people actively looking for training content in their specific muscle group. It costs nothing, and it's not exclusive: the same video stays up on their own channel too.

Where this is going

Meal & Muscle is the first two-thirds of a simple idea: MEAL + MUSCLE + TRACK. The recipe library and training video system you see today are live now. A creator marketplace — where trainers and dietitians can offer paid meal plans, training programs, and coaching directly — and a TRACK section for creator analytics are both planned for a later phase, built on top of the same honest-by-default foundation: real licensing, real attribution, no invented numbers.
